How I passed Indiana Emissions Smog

I live in one of the few counties in Indiana that require emissions testing. I bought the jeep from an area that does not require testing. I was very apprehensive about going for the test after seeing horror stories on here. I wanted to post my set up in case anyone in a similar situation had questions. I am running a 1979 CJ7 with the original AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l with 80,000 original miles. I did have the head redone this year, no more lifter tick. I have a motorcraft 2100 non-smog carb from the ebay guy that came with the jeep when I bought it. I have a DUI HEI distributor. I did put a small universal cat converter on it. I do not have my charcoal canister hooked up. I only have a vac advance for dizzy and PCV valve hooked to the carb. My EGR is capped. I turned my carb screws all the way in and then turned them out to 1.5 turns. Usually I run about 2.25 out. They did not ask to lift the hood, took the VIN number off of my registration. Not sure this is standard procedure, but there was no visual check. They tested the gas cap, then put me on the rollers. There was no moving test, only a probe in the tailpipe at idle. Because of the leaner mixture, according to their machine my rps were between 500-700 and very erratic. Didn't seem to matter, I got my pass certificate. I had been worried about this for the last 1.5 years I have owned it. Very happy it passed. Hopefully this helps ease someones mind.
