Figured I could start another thread apart from my ignition problem. Does anyone here know how to remove an ignition pick-up coil? I have the cap rotor, condensor, ign module and centrifugal arms off but cant figure the rest out. 1980 CJ5 Iron duke.

Thanks guys.

IIRC u have to pull the dist knok the pin out of the drive gear remove the shaft from the housing and then you can get at the pick up coil

Pulling the dist scares a lot of people, but really its childs play.
use your ditigil camera as a recocd of postion and put it back in the way it came out i dont even worry about being on tdc, juct dont move the crank.
i put witness marks with a punch and on the gear i put a tiny mark and on the end of the shaft too that way the gear gos back on the same way.
If you dont move anything and follow your marks back it will literaly fall together

Black magic marker does the same trick...just don't hold it with oily hands or spray it with cleaner

Thanks guys. Yeah I've pulled dists before but this sucker is WAY down there and looks like a pita to remove. Was hoping to avoid but here goes.....
