I've got a 1977 CJ5 , with a factory soft top. This is the kind with the "canvas" one piece doors, with the door frames made out of heavy wire.

My doors don't fit well. They don't fit inside the recess where the body is curved, they hang outside this.

The body on my jeep is fibreglass, and I suspect that's the problem. Right now I am putting a new soft top on, and figure I'll section the wire doors to make them fit right.

But this has me curious, how do your doors fit?

Thanks for the responses!

Christopher.

ours are fine,

That's the old BesTop. I haven't tried the new one yet. IIRC, I had to do some 'tweaking' to get door/windshield/top/door latch all aligned.

I didn't save the link, but somewhere on the internet is a good post on how to 'tweak' a top to fit.

Thanks for the responses. After some precision cutting, bending and welding, they fit great now!!

I think my glass body is a little different shape in the "door" openings.
