Vehicle(s)
FORMER: 1979 Jeep CJ5 w/ stock 304 V8, T-150, Dana 20 transfer case, Dana 30 Front & AMC 20 rear, MC 2100 carb, 31x10.5x15 (8" wheels), no lift (HD leaf pack), Warn 8274 winch, ~99K miles.
I've had my CJ5 for about 18 months and finally convinced my wife to go for a ride with me. We went to 4WheelParts to get a free camping shovel. I told her the coupon said you HAD to come with your 4x4 to get the freebie.

According to her Facebook post afterward: "Initial feelings- 1-we are going to die in this thing. 2- he should only use it to deliver mail. 3- dang its LOUD IN HERE!" My initial response to her initial response -- "it would suck to deliver mail using my Jeep."

Maybe I just need to let HER drive it (but I'm a really bad passenger when she drives).

Regardless...progress.

My ex absolutely hated to go with me on excursions... They were very tame. :) Then one day I said to myself - do or die, and we went into some serious mud and trails! She had a blast! She could not believe a vehicle could go where we went... Scared the hell out of her at first, :)

After that day, it was - "when are we going out in the mud?"

That's awesome man :chug:

My girlfriend absolutely loves rock crawling in my CJ. The first time she went out with me, she was scared to death we were going to die. I convinced her I was an "expert" who has been doing this for years and that helped some :D

We, who take our jeeps out all the time, take it for granted after a while. When you get someone who's never done this before out on an obstacle where their tire is half over a 6 foot ledge I suppose it could be unnerving

But even out on the road with people in my Jeep, they comment about how loud, drafty, and bouncy it is. I guess I just dont notice it anymore.

my wife will knock me out of the way to drive the jeep. she loves it but she also learned how to drive in it.

CJim7 - my ex was absolutely sure my CJ was going to roll over when I was off camber! She had no clue as to how far a CJ could roll before "a problem" arose... :)

I met a girl a few years ago (on a dating site, dont judge) and when we finally met, I took her to a place called Devils Coral. She was good with it until she actually saw the rocks we would be going over. It it wasn't for the 5pt harness, she would have bolted out of the moving Jeep. She was white-knuckled the whole way but stayed in the vehicle once I convinced her I wasn't some serial Jeep murderer.

I never saw that girl again :D

My bride has been off roading with me since we met. We used to go to Red Rock canyon outside Las Vegas in my flatbed 2wd Chevy LUV and wheel to the back side of the mountain. She loved it then and still does.
Its fun getting out with the SO and sharing the fun!

My wife has been going trail riding with me from the beginning.
She enjoys it as much as I do. She does get out and take pix
on some of the stuff, something about not trusting the driver.
