I have a 76 CJ7 , and bought some headers for it, and am wondering if they clear the steering shaft? I now have the body off and want to complete exhaust, but am wandering about steering issues, so any help would be great.

I thought the automatic Transmission was the issue with inside the frame headers?

Pete nailed it. Clearing an auto with inside the frame headers is a bit of a trick, but it can be done. Long tubes to run true dual exhuast "might" fit, depending on which Transmission is used. I'm going to be building my own headers (again) to run them inside the frame eventually. Most resort to shorty-style and run a crossover to a single pipe.
