Not sure where to post this. I was curious if any of you texas jeep guys know what the criteria for inspection is in Texas?? Is it considered a classic? Reason being I have a little exhaust leak at the manifold I havent been able to get to yet. Ive got to have it inspected so I can start commuting with it. Any advice is appreciated.. Thanks

In Houston? I would bet you would be SOL even if you did avoid the emission check They would look at it pretty close. It would be a problem in Dallas county just because it would be noticeable noise.

I just had my dodge truck inspected with a bad exhaust leak but they let it go.

PO had my CJ8 pass inspection with half the catalytic converter missing and The muffler completely rusted through. That was in the DFW metroplex. Don't know if he was friends with the inspector or what. BTW vehicles older than 24 years do not require an emissions test, just the safety check (in Texas).

If worried about the noise mix up a little jb weld and put it on the exhaust leak. It should pass untill you can get it fixed correctly. :)
