Hi. I'm new, to the board and to Jeeps, and have a question about intake manifolds. I recently picked up a 2001 Jeep Cherokee but the intake manifold is busted. A guy I know has one from an older model Jeep (mid-nineties, he said) but I'm not sure what the differences are. So my question is, can I use his older intake manifold on my newer Jeep? Even if some modifications were needed, I'd like to know if it would work. If it won't, at all, what years/engines would?

Thanks for the help. :-)

Hi, welcome to the forum, you may have not noticed, but this forum pretty much revolves around CJs, which they didnt build after 1986.

Anyhow, Youve got and "XJ", there are lots of different forums for XJs and those guys can probably answer your question better and faster than on this site. FWIW, I believe the 4.0L intakes goes something like this 91-95, 96-98, 99-2006. So you need to find out exactly what year the intake the other guy has because "mid nineties", aint near close enough to cut it, best wishes, BK.
