The Teardown is over, let the restoration begin..
What is the most durable method of cleaning and coating the interior of the frame? I have seen anything from Boiled Linseed oil to Zinc coating spray cans. It has some surface rust, but no serious cancer. I just want to do it right while I have the entire jeep in pieces. whats has worked for you??

Eastwood sells a pretty good rust encapsulator in aerosol spray cans and qt/gall cans.
I used the spray cans to spray the inside of the frame from accessible holes within the frame of my CJ7 . Using qt cans, we poured the paint down the inside of the frame (with one end of the frame elevated) and used compressed air to help it spread. The compressed air forced the paint to cover the inside bottom of the boxed frame. I wasn't too concerned with the inside top, but I guess you could flip the frame over and repeat the process.
Here is the link to their product:

Forgot to mention that the frame was blown out/cleared with a pressure washer and then compressed air, while the frame was elevated on one end. I had a couple of rat nests in mine.

I am a fan of over doing everything. My rig is for fun. So I have the time. If you want a really clean interior frame, use 50% cut of muratic acid. Spray it in with a pump up sparyer of get an undercoating gun from Eastwood . Leave it set for a fifteen minutes and repeat as many times as you can. Then you gotta wash it down again and again to dilute that acid. Baking soda will help in the wash. Then get a good etcher from a company that sells a good rust encapsulator. Use that under coating spary gun again, to apply. The gun I bought had two different length hoses that feed inside the frame holes. Again IO over did the paint(POR15) inside. I think I used a quart inside my frame alone. I never want to see a rust through again.
Beware of leaving the muratic acid inside for too long. It will make the metal all shinny and clean, it will also remove a lot of metal if you give it time. I also recommend a coat of a chassis paint to protect the rust encapsulator. It may seem like alot of extra work but how often are you gonna do a frame off?
Dont forget to chase the threads with a tap for all those threaded frame holes.

I have a fairly clean frame for an east coast Jeep. I have removed the thicker rusty spots with a wire wheel on a grinder. I was going to sandblast the frame and just use the Eastwood internal frame rust encapsulator. The muratic acid wash seems to actually eat the rust and leave the bare metal to apply a good etcher for primer and paint to adhere to. I dont know how much good a blaster can do on the interior frame. I still intend on using it on the exterior frame to remove old paint and rust then using chassis black to paint it. How would you use the baking soda on the interior of the frame to stop the muratic acid? I guess just pour it in one of the frame access holes? or are you diluting it to spray into the frame with a sprayer. If all the rust is gone with the acid wash. I think the POR works with rust to adhere?? If the rust is gone I should be able to just coat the interior frame with and etcher then primer and paint. Or am I missing something?

I can't say how well it holds up over time, I'm in the build stage. I used Eastwood's Internal Frame paint. It comes with an 18" hose with a conical spraying tip. I used one can with the frame flipped over and did both sides. Two days later I flipped the frame over and used another full can to do the same thing. One can was enough to do it all but I wanted a good thick coat since my frame was new bare metal.
