1981 CJ7 diesel, all stock. Front disc brakes. Not so smooth to operate transfer case.
Hi, I am new to Jeep scene, although I have my 1981 Diesel CJ7 since new and since before I went to the USA for college. The engine runs fine (Isuzu C240 Diesel 2.4), it is my daily ride. The only problem is with the rear axle that shaft and hub separated easily, I use 31' tires. I use to owned CJ8 , and I liked the wide track, and one piece shaft and hub. Could anybody assist me in letting me know reliable store to find good used front and rear axle, preferably with rear disc brakes (my front is original disc brakes). I plan to have them sent back to my country. Second question, probably any body can help me find me a store that sell second hand high lift leaf spring set for this car. I drive this car mainly on regular streets and not in the mud, I just like the look of lifted CJ using 33' tires. And I needed a good second hand Transfer Case , too. Thank you for all your help

You can pick up one peice axle kits for your rear axle for a fair price. As for the disc brakes I would shop around for a Kit that includes every thing. Used axles that fit directly under a CJ are few and far in between. Any thing other then a 30 front and 20/CJ 44 rear will require alot of fabrication, parts swaps or rim changes. I would stick with the axles you have and just put the one peice shafts into the 20 or get a set of wide track axles and swap the one peice shafts.

For the lift springs I would not buy used springs to ship back to your country. Ive used used spring for builds here before some have been great and some are bent or wore out and sagging. Im sure the cost of shipping to where you are wont be cheap and I wouldnt want to pay to have it shipped twice. I would buy a new 2.5" kit to replace your springs. 2.5'' will clear your 31's niceley.

I believe Willys Works here in Tucson Arizona can help you out. Talk to Rob.
