KC HiLites Performance 7" Round Headlamp Kit for 45-06 Jeep CJ, Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

I installed a set of the the above lights last night. I got them used from a guy for 60 bucks on jeepforum. The only down side is the PO removed the cover in the center of the light that covers the bulb. He claimed this added more visibility but Im not too convinced.

The Lense is the same shape as the glass from oem bulbs but it is crystal clear. I am actually not sure how I feel about that cause it sorta looks weird. But that could be because I am used to looking at the glass from OEM bulbs that you can't see through.

Fit right in place of the stock lights with little fuss. The only issue was the rubber housing seal on the back is a tight fit into the oem dish but I was able to muscle it in. All the bezels fit just fine.

My jeep is cursed and refuses to run and drive regardless of the type of engine or fuel control system I put in it so no road test feed back here. But I took pics of the beam against the garage door.

I have relay bypasses on my lights but my battery was drained to six volts at the time i took the pictures so they may actually be a tad brighter on a full charge.

Ill have to get this out at night and try them. The first thing I noticed is that there is definitely more light from the KCs but the OEM has a very defined line of light whereas the KC is more of a blob following a somewhat defined line.

2. Stock bulb HI-left KC H4 HI- right
3. KC -Lo

If your down around 6 volts you are getting less then half to lumens out of those lights.. check em with it running.

Yep that's why I said they would be brighter on a full charge.

You're not gonna be able to tell anything without a fully charged battery......

You should probably charge the battery or your results will be misleading. Hope this helps.

Put in a 4 cylinder with the stock carb. Back it with an SR4 Transmission . Im sure you'll be happy. Hope this helps more.

Talk about kicking a guy when he is down..........

So make sure your new lights are legal on full battery charge, a ticket is more depressing than a problem engine....... .......Rod

Legal? According to the link in post 1 these are dot certified.

LOL, much better! Now put a battery tender on that battery when you're not driving the Jeep!
