Want to put 33's on my CJ7 (have worn out 31's). I have T-5 , 3.31 gears, rest stock. Any issues with gearing, axles or fender well interference?

When ever you go up in tire size your gonna loose a little performance. axles shouldnt be a problem as long as your not beating on it like a tard. as far as fitment goes if your stock suspension your gonna be tight. 2" will get you high enough to handle the 31's

I had 33" tires on my 86cj7 when I bought it and they rubbed terribly, and had 2.73 gears in it. In 2wdh it was a little high, but as soon as you put it in 4wdh it couldn't pull its self up a hill. I put a 4" lift and re-geared to 4.11 and one piece axles in the rear, and up graded the front axles at the same time. I think the T-5 is a little light of a Transmission but you can run it till it quites and then up grade to a medium duty T-176 or even a heavy duty T-18 if you can find one. I would put at least a 2" lift on it 4" would be better if you want to do a little harder wheeling. I like my 4.11s my rpms are 2500 at 55-MPH and 2800-3000 at 65-MPH. But also with your T-5 your RPM will be lower. IMO at least put in a one piece axle in the rear if you have ACM 20 and a 2" lift, a 4" would be better. You may want to re-gear to 4.11s in the future if funds are light.:)

33's will be a bit anemic with the 3.31, IMHO. but it will work. Got lift??
post some pictures so I will know you when I see you on the street.:D

Attached are photo's, I think I have a 2" lift because current 31's fit easily. They are 11 years old and are dry rotted to the point of being dangerous. Hope to see you on trails, need to find competitively priced 33's and one replace rim for spare.
