Location for Fuel Pressure Regulator

Does it matter if the pressure regulator is before of after the fuel filter? Currently my order is fuel pump, regulator, fuel filter, carb.

I usually run the filter as soon as I can in the system - keeps the out of the regulator.

x2... you really need the filter as soon as it leaves the tank if you can do it... this way it keeps all the crud out of the lines earlier. It the engine bay is easier to reach however.
