Hey my name is Dan. I am a newbie to this club. I have owned an 82' CJ7 Jamboree Edition since 1990. It is my understanding that they may not be many with this paint scheme left. Just wondering if there were any other members who may have one. Thought this post would be a good way for me to break the ice. Thanks.:chug:

:ww: from Michigan , any pictures

:ww: lets see some pics

Hey good morning Jeepardy. My Jambo is the original "Topaz Gold". I sent all of the necessary info to the "Jeep Registry" site but to date it has not included. It has been a couple of years since that site has been updated. I'm not sure if it is being monitored any more. Seems like a pretty informative gig to me. I purchased my Jambo from a dealer in Lodi, CA when I was stationed out there in 1990. They had just took it in on trade and hadn't even had a chance to get it out onto the lot when I had discovered it. At the time I had no idea about the history of the commemorative edition I only knew it was a early model CJ7 with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l eng. and that is what I was looking for. Right from the get go I began making subtle changes and now I kinda regret in doing so. Oh well we live and learn. In the spring when out pull it out of storage (ton of snow right now) I want to give it a fresh paint job including new hood decals. I will take photos as this begins and post them. I only wish now that I new about the letter back then because I am only the second owner of this rig and that would have been a nice piece of paper to own.

I promise coming spring I will post some. I store it for the winters and we have a heel of snow right now. Come spring I'm going to give it a fresh paint job keeping the original color including hood decals.

Hell, I just take her along and tell her to get in buckle up and shut up.

Welcome Dan, the snow should be gone soon ;)

Lot of Jambo owners over on the Scrambler site so that's another good source of info. The Jomboree accessories is what really makes one collectable (spare cover, light bar, seats, brush guard, etc). That said, glad to see you are looking at it now and putting it back as original as you can. The Jambo was one of the rarer trim packages on a Jeep, and probably not too many of the left.

Thanks wm69. I'm new to this site so bare with me. Where are you referring to when you say the Scrambler site? Not sure what you mean or how to get there. As for my Jambo, well it's simply to late to think about going back to all original. I'm a northern Michigan woods guy with a camp up in the U.P. Although my rig is in really great shape for 31 I am not afraid at all to her nose it. Me and her have been in way over our heads before but she always gets me back to camp. This past fall I finally removed the worn out original suspension and replaced it with an all new lift kit. I am looking for a granny tranny (Ford T-18 ) and that will just about do it for my upgrades. I will keep my Jambo the original "Topaz Gold" with the "Jamboree " hood decals. The front seats were in bad shape when I bought it so they were the very first things replaced. The removal of the California smog junk was next.

Thanks wm69. I was gonna direct him to the Scrambler site as well. There are a couple guys on there that may be able to help you out with some parts. Ive seen some really nice Jambo stuff over there. Id love to see you bring it back to its original glory.
