I know this has been gone over to death, but I have searched and searched and can't find a picture similar to my scenario. 1985 CJ7 with a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l . I have no CTO no ERG and no breather. My Holley only had two line hooked up the pcv and the distributor. I sketched out this drawing, it took my a little while to so don't laugh. I also included a few pics of my jeep, the vacuum hook up directly under the carb on the intake has one hose coming off going to the power brakes. there are a few other open threaded holes on the intake not being used or plugged. In the picture I drew i'm pretty sure #3 goes to the pcv valve but the rest I have no idea.

So I think #1 goes to the distributor and #3 goes tot he pcv. #2 which is the nipple underneath the round air horn I have no idea and #4 which is tucked in the corner next to the accelerator pump I'm not sure?

2 is the float bowl runs to the canister it will say "float bowl" no-smog block it off
3 is PCV you can run the hose to the front or rear of the valve cover and run a mini filter if you choose or hose to the air cleaner. smog or no smog run this
4 is a bowl vent there about 10 different kinds is urs about 3/16-1/4in?
that could be by passed at the canister i think!! no-snog block it of.

So what your saying is to cap off #2 and#4. What about the canister, should I cap off the ones not being used or leave as is?

if you need pass emissions you'll want to hook it all up, but with what you got i think you should be ok.

no emissions needed, thanks.

that's good because there is no way in heck you could pass with out an EGR valve:D.

you have two kinds of vacuum, ported and manifold. Ported is above the throttle plates and manifold is below the throttle plates. the vacuum, inches of mercury, increases when throttle is opened on ported vacuum and decreases on manifold vacuum. The pcv valve, distributer and power brake booster are on manifold vacuum. the choke pull off and thermostatic air cleaner along with some of the emissions system are on ported.

when the vacuum increases, that means you have more of nothing.

got that?:chug:

1980 CJ5 Laredo - I have the same problem.....all of my vacuum lines have been removed. I want to re-install the lines to the charcoal cannister to lessen the fuel smell. I read that this will also help with warm startups. I also want to re-install the lines for the thermostatic air control system. I have the 2100 carb as well, but with the AMC 304 V8. Can anyone help with this? Pictures would be great!
