I just got a MC 2100 carb off a 68 mustang that had a 289. I know most jeep peeps us a venturi size of 1.08 but mines a 1.02. I'm thinking it should still be ok especially at lower RPM's but my question is, has anyone used this size and what is recommended jet sizing for this? It seems the most popular jet for the 1.08 ia about a #47 but mine has a #44. Would the smaller venturi require smaller jetting also? Thanx

Engine size (CID) x maximum RPM / 3456 = CFM
AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l x 4000/3456 = approx 298 CFM (that's assuming you have a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l L6)

These following numbers are for Motorcraft/Autolite carbs. The number on the right corresponds with the cfm rating on the left.

Number = CFM
.98 = 190
1.01 = 240
1.02 = 245
1.08 = 287
1.14 = 300
1.21 = 351
1.23 = 356
1.33 = 424

So, according to our calculations your AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l needs 298 CFM, a 1.02 venturi size MC2100 maxes out at 245. You may end up starving the engine. It could run like a champ... I'm not exactly sure. One way or another let us know how it works :chug:

I think you will be fine. It did suport a 289 after all. As for jets who knows, I would try whats in there and see what happens.

i have 46 in mine but i have a 1.08.
