1979 CJ7 Renegade 4X4 AMD 304 CID V8, 3 speed Transmission, everything is manual. Not sure about the rest but will this weekend. Just got it. Alot has been changed on it.
Who ever had this Jeep before....WOW....I don't know where to begin. However, I had to replace the motor mounts & not a minute to soon might I add. There was no resistants on the bolts...none of them. The drivers side mount had a make shift metal plate under the mount, of which we had to put in with the new one. Now with both replace I think I'm good to go. How wrong I was. First off the new mount threads were smaller than the old ones & only one mount came with bolts. Now here's the biggest problem. The mount brackets are not the originals-can't be. Now the mounts are shifting. Didn't go a mile down the road & I can feel& hear the engine lift&fall. Adding to that, it causing problems with the Transmission . Anyone have any suggestions for the mounts? 79 CJ7 Renegade AMC 304 Manual 3 speed Transmission .:(

:ww: to the site.

Are you talking about the rubber mounts or the metal ones that bolt to the engine? The rubber mounts actually are rubber sandwiched between two metal plates with interlocking tabs (so if the rubber breaks the tabs will not allow the engine to fall).

This a factory rubber mount. -->> Front Engine Mount (L/R)*3186107

Hopefully you got the info you needed, sure would be nice if you said "thanks" or at least let us know if we helped... :)

I ordered mine off this site for my AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l to 360 swap and they were very fast and inexpensive! I am really glad i stumbled upon them. The mounts for my 360 are the same as the AMC 304 so check them out! www.baseline4x4.com .
