Ok guys,
Im gonna go ahead and say im brand new to old jeeps:o.....

I have a 85 CJ7 , with the inline 6 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and it has a automatic Transmission . The Transmission cooler lines are leaking which I am trying to replace.
The "skidplate" seems to be slightly tweaked and is not allowing me to drain the Transmission .
I have loosened the bolts on the plate and there is alot of weight there, when I push up on the plate the whole Transmission moves and I did not see any of means of support other than the plate.
I have a seal for the bottom of the Transmission the po gave me that needs to be replaced aswell but im a bit wary of removing the plate, is this normal.
also the Transmission cooler was just wire tied to the front of the grill on the CJ, I would like to repipe it to is proper location - which I would think is directly infront of the radiator but I do not see any factory holes for the pipes there?
best I can tell its a TF 999 Transmission

The skid plate is all that holds the Transmission . t/case in place. You have to hold the Transmission . t/case up with a floor jack when you take the skid plate off.

Sweet, sorry for the stupid question but this bad boy is ratty! Im not sure what is supposed to be like this or just another "fix"
Hey, this is what I found earlier!

What will work for holding that up is to put a ratchet strap between the frame rails under the tyranny/TC.

Then you don't have a floor jack in the way!:chug:
