I took the A/C off my 84 CJ7 with the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l and need to know what alternator bracket replaces the a/c compressor -alternator that was on it.

thanks.

Well , nevermind. I finally found it in a prev posting

thanks Keith460!!!
what bracket did you wind up using? I'm doing the same, took the a/c off and I've searched the whole damn USA and can't find a bracket to move the Alternator up to where the a/c compressor was.. my belt will not work with the alternator down below.. thanks.. wayne

On the later 258s, with out the a/c pump there is a pulley on a bracket in place of it. It is mounted on top of the alternator mount thru four bolts just like the a/c. You should be able to find one at J&W Auto Wreckers in Antelope Valley,Ca.

I'll try to get them now.. thanks for the info.

If you cant find one, PM me. I may be able to get you one.

Got your PM, not sure now if you want the bypass pulley or the ALT mount? Here is what I have...

Your ALT should fit right in there. I have no idea if the serp. setup will work correctly with this mount?
