Since I put the 2150 on I plan on doing the nutter bypass today. From the FSM it tells me to run to temp, adjust idle so that it hits 1600 and adjust timing. Since I will no longer be running the computer and all the smog :dung:, so I just go off base idle of 650-700 and adjust to 8* plus or minus 2* since I'm at sea level?

sounds like a good place to start. go for it.:D

Remove and cap the vaccuum advance tube from the dist. You basically don't want to adjust a distributor that is starting to advance either by vaccuum or with the weights.

I just did mine today with a 2100 I could not get it to 8 the idle was to rough so I had to settle for 10 BTDC and it is pretty smooth

I just did mine today with a 2100 I could not get it to 8 the idle was to rough so I had to settle for 10 BTDC and it is pretty smooth. That's pulling 19-20 on the vacuum gauge. I'm waiting on a new tach in the mail so once that arrives I can fine tune it, but it is already a vast improvement over the Holley 390!

I adjusted it to around 8-9 degrees and had it running right. I tried ported vacuum (didn't like that at all) so I switched to manifold and she ran like a top. I'm going to do the Team Rush upgrade and the valve cover this weekend, and then she should be good to go. I'm going to open up a new thread making sure that all my vacuum lines are correct, but I believe they are.

Oh, and I broke a new timing light, so I ran down and purchased another one with RPM built in. It's sweet!
