hi all. so, my buddy has a 1980 CJ7 with the I4 and 4 speed manual. He's asking for my help (as the only mechanic he knows), to swap it over to the I6 4.0 high output jeep motors with a 5 speed manual (all hopefully from the same donor, a 1991 or 1992).

now, I know next to nothing about jeeps, but usually 5 speeds are a bit longer than the 4 speeds. so, are we going to need different driveshafts as well. He doesn't want to just use the entire donor drivetrain because he wants to later upgrade to Dana 44 .

so i guess that real things I need help with is what will be the minimum components needed to make this a running street legal swap (in CA no less)

as far as i can figure. (things with question marks mean i don't know if those are needed)

complete engine
5 speed Transmission
Transfer Case
wiring harness
ecu
fuel pump and fuel tank and fuel lines (in and out)
emissions (evap and related canisters)
exhaust and catalytic converter
radiator?
different motor mounts?

anyone got any other items you think i'll need to make a running swap?

or, if this is the wrong place to post this please let me know.
