no idea what happened this morning but need help

Ok this morning I went and started up my jeep this morning and it started forlike 10 seconds and then popped and started smoking from the dipstick (after it shot out) and around the valve cover. Just did a gasket change yesterday. Idk what it is. Its a AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l inline 6 from an 83 CJ7

thats kinda of odd problem to have. will it start up at all now? how much smoke are we talking about here, and what blew out from the valve cover, oil, or smoke.

might be a clogged pcv. not letting the engine relieve itself

Yes it will start and do the same thing. And smoke is like a ball of it on the pop and then will smoke a little after the pop. And smoke only out of the valve cover

What are the chances you blew a fuel pump diapfragm and pumped fuel into the oil pan?? Smell the oil??

You got me stumped on this one I can't think of what would make it pop and smoke from the dipstick and valve cover other than blow by, and high crank case pressure.
