I'm almost done building my 74 AMC 232 i6 and I'm wanting to replace the oil pickup tube in the pan. Iv searched and bought what says is the correct ones from summit racing and none fit the new pump. Iv also went through quadratec and theirs didn't fit either. The old tube fits in the new pump just fine so I know the pump is correct. Anyone run into this problem before? The old tube is dirty and there's no way to take it apart to clean it. Can I take one of the new tubes and grind/sand down the tube where it goes into the pump and then send it through a parts washer to get the fine dust out of it? Any help would be great thanks!
