just replaced my rear main seal and when i started it my oil pressure idles at 60 psi is that too high before i replaced it i believe it was idling around 40 . also i am in the process of relocating my ground to a diffrent place on the block bc when i started it up after replacing the rear main it started leaking thoughts?? ive tried rtv and the right stuff and it still leaks

Whats still leaking, the RMS or were the ground was located?

NEVER-EVER trust any electrical oil pressure gauge. OEM, AMC were the worst!
Bet you use teflon tape on the sender's threads--;)

Are you sure that oil leak is not from the back-side of the valve cover, and run'n down to the pan?

Nothing wrong with 60 when you start a cold engine
What is your "hot" idle oil pressure?
What is your idle RPM?

60 is ok. I rebuild my AMC 304 last year and my pressure went from 20 to 60psi. I also replaced the oil pressure gauge with a mechanical one.

Replacing the rear main seal shouldn't raise your oil pressure. Maybe you got some rtv in the oil channel in the upper main bearing half or the crank shaft oil passage that takes oil from the main bearing journal to the rod journal. either way a restriction would raise oil pressure.
As far as the oil leak, I assume you replaced the upper rear main seal also. The Haynes manual suggests only using a little dish soap to slide the new upper seal into place around the crank shaft. But, the upper seal can go in backwards and leak. I think the bottom seal will only go into the main cap one way.
The oil pressure sending unit should ground into the block through the unit itself.
