OK, so I got my first jeep and it was doing the usual carb problem. So I pulled it and yes sure enough one tube was gummed up and one float had a hole in it. sidenote(floats are sensitive and cannot be soldered/brazed, dumb me.) So I clean, fixed, and reassembled according to....the CARTER BBD MANUAL. well i put it on the jeep, it will start fine and idle around 500RPM,( yes I know thats low). But it bogs, spits, and sputters if I try to accelerate. SO Looking for suggestions on where I might check first, otherwise Im gonna tear into it, and reset everything on the high side and see what happens, Thanks guys.

It may be your float is set to low so there isn't enough gas in the bowl. Did you put on a new filter also?

Thanks for the suggestion, Im gonna pull it apart and start with setting it with the wet float prochedure. Yes new clear filter ( same one they use on boats, glass and metal).

Are you running a fuel bypass filter?? One inlet/two outlets.

Check Vacume advance That was a prob with mine and cleaning carb.. would idle fine but get it in gear and go just spudered bad..
