Hi. I am new to the site. I am attempting an install of a wiring harness into a 74 CJ5 . I've never done a much wiring, with the exception of stereos and small stuff. I keep running into issues with this kit that I was told would be very simple. Currently, I am stuck on the steering column. The turn signal switches that come in the kit look nothing like what is inside the housing once it is disassembled. Can anyone help with this? What was inside is 6 wires soldered to the back of a metal switch housing. What is in the kit are two different harmonica looking plastic switch houses. The guide says to measure for the fit, but I dunno where to start measuring this. Any help would be great!

What part number kit did you purchase for your 74 Jeep?
Are you still using the externally mounted Spartan turn signal switch?

I've done 79 and 82 painless wiring harness's. If you post the part number and a pic of what you have I might be able to help.
