I have a CJ7 with a Dana 30 front axle. The pinion seal is leaking and needs to be replaced. I have a manual but the job calls for a number of AMC tools that are not available now. What exactly do I need to hold the pinion yoke while taking the nut off, what to use to pull the yoke off, and what size of socket do I need to pull off and replace the pinion nut?

put it in gear, chock the wheels, pull the front driveshaft, lock the front hubs, someone else can tell you the socket size (can't remember right off the top of my head) get a breaker bar with the socket and break the nut loose, the yolk should slide right off. after you have that done you have to pry the old seal out with a screw driver, or whatever else you can get in there, then tap the old seal back in, put the yolk back on, retorque the pinion nut re-install the driveshaft.
