I have a '61 CJ5 with Power Lock front hubs, manufactured by Cutlas Tool & Mfg. When I try to engage them, I can engage either the right or the left, but not both. Transfer Case in 2-wheel drive (or N) and tranny in N. Either one will go in, but not both. Any ideas? Thanks!

:)You have the old knife blade lever variety or the round knurled knob type? In either case some times you have to roll the wheel a little...........lube inside the hubs may also be an issue.

They are the ones with the round pieces about the size of a dime, on either side of the hub. You use a screwdriver or a piece of flat stock that has been rounded to turn them in or out.

Here's what you have:

Get rid of them. They are binding as you try to lock the hubs.
Those things are junk when they are new and get worse with age.
