I was wondering if this is normal, the hi idle stays on till I rev it up. Should it go back to normal idle when warm. It does not do this on it's own, it will stay at hi idle till it runs out of gas. Not that I have done it, but I have forgot about it for maybe 20 min and it had not gone back to normal idle.
If this is not suppose to happen, how do I fix it?

my high idle stay on till i hit the gas. im pretty sure this is normal with a carb.

it is normal thats the way older cars work if it was a late 80s or 90s then it would be 50/50 they are computer controled but the older ones have a notch that the linkage slips into till the choke spring heats up trying to turn it the other way the notch holds it there till you hit the throttle at that point it springs back opening the choke and the idle drops i could go into alot of detail about how it works but i think you get the point .
