1986 CJ7. Complete fiberglas body and panels. crate 350 Chevy. Automatic. Manual brakes at this point. Will post the rest when I learn all that it has.
Hi everyone. I have a 1986 CJ7 . it is being redone paint etc. We have the engine out and are cleaning it up etc. I need to replace the radiator. I have a small block chevy 350 with a th350 Transmission . So I would like to get a radiator that has the Transmission cooler built in. Have looked at griffin, be cool etc. Just looking for suggestions. Am going this weekend to summit racing to get other things. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I got a Champion off Ebay for $213 shipped. It was set up for the AMC hose configuration, but they have them for the Chevy conversions. I actually think they might be a couple bucks cheaper.

Happy thusfar, running cool for the first time....EVER.

Problem with some of the other brands is their overinflated price. This topic has been brought up before--you get what you pay for. But that theory only holds up until brand names get involved and the price tends to go through the roof.

I'm happy so far. Seems like a good product, with nice clean strong welds.

i have the champion radiator in my jeep to. it cools my 350 chevy just fine and has built in tranny cooler. i think the quality is top notch!

I second what cass says I just did the swap into my cj and have the champion as well has been awesome even with my motor being .60 over. Mine has the built in cooler but with the stick I'm not using it. Great company and it was cheap

Thanks for all the help guys. Glad everyone on this forum is so helpful!! Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!

I will say this one negative thing about my Champion:

The mounting flanges were not correct to mount to my grill assembly. The distance between the left side bolt holes and the right side bolt holes was "off" by about 1/2 inch. I had to oval out the holes in the radiator mounting flanges to make it work. Not the end of the world.

When I called the seller, they said modifying the flanges would NOT void my warranty. If I didnt want to do it myself, I could send it back for another... The last thing I wanted to do was wait a week for shipping each way, so I did it myself. Took 30 minutes.. Not a problem.

Aside from that, no issues at all
