I have just purchased a CJ3a which had been mounted on shortened CJ7 rails with a wider stance. It has a 1967 Jeep V6 with 3 speed Transmission . I have seen multiple CJ3's with small block 350's in the engine bay. Is this fairly straightforward to be able to fit in the existing engine bay? What sort of modifications are required? Also, thinking about going from 3 speed to 4.
Thanks for any advice you can give.

a small block 350 is a good swap for the power, but the large problem i have found is there is alot of custom work. from motor mount, routing the exhaust, steering, cooling, nearly everything is different. its a money and time consuming project to do any swap, especially a v8, but in the end if it does work out it can make the vehicle very fun. just be warned unless you have done a v8 swap before, your in for a fight.
