Has anyone tried one of these smittybilt fold and tumble seats. My old seat in my early cj is shot so am trying to find a replacement. If you have not tried smittybilt, have u tried any other brand that is good or that I should stay away from. Thanks in advance

No experience with but do have a fairly good early CJ5 rear seat I have no use for, not sure the exact vintage.

No personal experence but from what I've heard their seats are as good as there other products. In other words not so good.

I replaced all the seats in my 73 CJ with Smittybilts. I am very happy with them. The fold and tumble works well and looks good.

I bought the split fold and tumble sets. My first impression was that they were flimsy. The rubber bumpers they set on came off so the frame on one of the seats broke and all the handles fell off. I guess they are OK but make sure all hardware is tightened down before you install.

Thanks SASQUACH but i think im going to go with a new fold and tumble. Well I just had my backseat quoted for reupholstery and the said they were going to charge me $250. I can buy a new seat for that, so thats what im planning on doing. I just found out that the smittybilt seat wont be in stock for a while. Does anyone have an opinion on the Bestop fold and tumble rear seat. Thanks

Did you try both Morris 4x4 and 4wd hardware? One of them may have the seat in stock.

I just ordered two Bestop frontseats off ebay. Noticed that they had the rear fold and tumble in stock as far as bestop goes. Tried some Rugged Ridge seats awhile back, never buy that brand again. Seems like bestop gets some great reviews all over the Internet aswell as here.

Thanks guys. I bought a bestop fold and tumble rear seat. It looks great and was an easy install.
