Soft doors, color change?

I have a 85 CJ7 and it has grey cloth doors. The grey top is in rough shape
but the doors are still in decent shape. I was going to get a replacement black top, and was wondering if I could paint/stain the fabric doors?

Anyone try this? I'm not going to cover them in duct tape.

By now I would really doubt that you have an oem top. There might be an identifier of who built it somewhere on it and you could contact them. Otherwise try you luck at a junkyard or try to stain it somehow.
