Soft Top Question

I have a 77 - CJ7 . I am currently changing my roll bar out to a tj style for rear seat belts. I have no tops for the jeep at the moment besides the bikini I ran on it with the CJ bar. Will the standard CJ -7 soft top work around a tj sport bar/cage? I am thinking about getting the tj safari top with header for most of the year, but would like an enclosed top from time to time, or have I eliminated that option with my roll bar choice?

you would need the measurements to say for sure, but i think the top will stretch around the TJ cage, it will just have to be modified to attach to it.

Thanks. How much modification would need to be done to the top? or would it be hardware related? Would a soft top for a yj be better?

Best bet would be to get the top first
then set it up and then make measurements
I cannot promise that you will be able to drop it and raise it without a bit of ingenuity, but then you are looking for coverage and a entire family roll cage so the raise/lower being a bit of a pain would not matter as much as the fit.
building before top is like putting a door in a house before framing it.

You should be able to make the CJ top work, the biggest challenge is making the top fit the windshield. That is the main place you want to make sure it is secure. A CJ or YJ safari top should still cover the cage portion, you may have to add or change the way it currently connects to adapt to the TJ cage.
