"Space Age" Differential oil replacement?! (AMC20/Dana30)

I have an '83 CJ7 , AMC20 Limited slip, Dana 30 . Was curious if anyone has any good recommendations for synthetic differential oil. And, Transfer Case oil, for that matter.

I use my rig on and off road.

Dude your about to get a buttload of opinions.

Amsoil Sever Gear has best average marks for both....Royal Purple is good. However, Royal Purple is sometimes 'too slick' for LSD's. If you use it, get Archoil friction modifier and use 85w not 75w. But get ready for 1 million other options.

If your off road use includes any water, I would save my money and use conventional gear oil. Those "space age" chocolate shakes will get expensive.

I only do the occasional fording of high water, usually barely deep enough to hit the floor boards... Thanks for the insight.

But they are supplied to me for free...
