so when i bought my 82 CJ7 it was my first leaf spring jeep and i thought the shackles looked really big for some reason. pretty sure they're aftermarket

if so im going to replace them with stock ones because i don't like the way that they lean. it's got 33's on it now with no lift so i'm guessing they are larger than stock. after i replace the shackels with stock ones whats the stock tire size for this pig? i wanna return everything to stock and drive it for a few months before i decide to sink any serious money into modifying it.

discount tire says your jeep came stock with 205/75-15 tires.:D

wow i think my dodge shadow had 215's what size do you guys recommend then?

Those are aftermarket shackles I had a pair on mine for awhile didn't like them. they give you about 2'' of lift. As for tires if you want close to stock I would put on 235-75-15 IMO.

yeah i could see that looking good stock.

my cj on the spare before I replaced my old 33"s with duratrac 33" was 30/9/15. Not positive but sounds close to me.

Although your car will have better ground clearance, LOL. Just sayin'!

It might I have a Dodge caliber and it sits kinda high. It has fully independent suspension too. If I could lift it about a foot it'd b pretty beastly off-road . Jk lol

Touche lol. Man tho 205s and my 4cyl. This thing would probably get better mileage than my car. :)

The original ads stated upwards of 27mpg on the highway so yeah, they did pretty good from the factory. We as bigger is better and need more power americans killed those numbers by modding everything or letting the tune go to hell then we blame poor engineering from AMC as the reason.

I get 25 MPG in my caliber so we'll see what I can squeeze out of this pig
