Strange sound

I got a sound that started out as a clicking sound at acceleration and crusing speed. My four wheel drive shifter on the floor has a vibration to it. Now the sound has gotton much worse and is more of a continuous screetching sound.
As soon as the I press the clutch in the noise and vibration go away.
Could this be a sign of my pilot bearing going out or the syncros?? Im kinda stump. Any info will help. Thanks
