i went to meet up with a guy that i sold some stuff to off craigslist. he pulled up in this sweet 66 corvette  i didnt even think about selling the stuff then. those are my favorit years of vettes. i got out and said sweet car is that about a 66. he said ya and was like i didnt figure someone as young as you could nail the year on the head. i was like wtf im might be 32 but i love old cars. so after popping the hood and checking it out i finally sold him the stuff lol. he wouldnt take the stuff for trade for the vette though lol.

Yeah I like vettes to but only certain years.
I passed up a '67 years back, I was scared away by the big picture when I shoulda nickel and dimed it.

im the same way. late 70s until the c5 i dont like. c5 up i like. looks arent that good and the smog engines suck. i think it was like 85 thru 88 one of those years gm under rated the buick grand national cause it made more power than the vette.

63 split window
68 to 71
any C6
I like vettes, but those are about the ones that get me motivated to really go over them. I remember when I was around 26 I had a chance to get a 64 convertible and passed it up because the guy would not budge down to where I wanted him to. Now I would gladly give him 13,500 for it.
LOL guess I should have handed him the cash, I had it on me.

I like old everything just about. Vintage stuff . . . there's just something about it. I lived in a house a few years ago built in 1896 and thought it was the coolest house. I sold it and upgraded to a little bigger 1930s home. :D

i like corvettes as well, but i don't like the assholes who own em. if you've ever hung around a few guys that own vettes for a little while you'll know what i mean. go to a corvette show and talk to them guys most of em are stuck up, and don't know very much about cars. sorry for offending anybody that has one thats why i said most not all

thats funny, when I bought my Crossfire it was side by side with a vette and I was looking at them both. That vette, a c5 was looking good and I wanted it bad, however I wife asked me if I really wanted the reputation of owning a vette. All I had to think of was my brother in law and decided to get the Crossfire.
I think I did the better of the two I now know why guys buy Mercedes, that car is the smoothest thing I have ever drove. It is a blast on twistey roads, extremely quick and totally refined. I always wanted a vette, but now I think they are crude.

i kinda agree. i know one guy with a 69 vette that is cool. he does all the work on it and gets his hands dirty. thats a car guy. not o i think it needs a water pump so i will pay $650 to have it done cause i dont want to get dirty lol

hows do you like the $90 oil changes on that? a guy comes to my work with one and its cool. but i finally got him to come in for oil changes when we have the mobil1 and filter on sale for $29.99 he gets two of them and saves about $30.

yea, and it takes quite a few of those qts at one time
I figure it is just the price you pay, I mean I am sure every car of this type has expenses a more mundane car does not for reasons that those not looking for the true performance are not willing to pay.
Such as insurance.
Anyway once you take a canyon road with the traction control turned off diving into every corner deep and romping on it hard getting out you understand what it is all about, and then to have that with a mercedes 3.2 liter v6, one of the most reliable engines on the road, well lets just say fun is fun.
