Nope not even close. T-15 , T-150 , T-4 maybe, but not a T-18

is ther a way to tell.. or just by looking at it and knowing your stuff the only way??
 
About the only way is to arm yourself with as much information as possible. The T-18 is a BIG tramsmission and it is heavy... It's shape is pretty unique also.

Most of the time IDing a Transmission is pretty straight forward as long as you are familiar with them... That is where experience and having a good guide helps.
