trailer lights

I've got an 81 jeep CJ7 and want to hook up trailer lights. Am I going to have to tap each wire and hook them up that way?

Not quite, you will need a right stop/directional light(light green wire), left stop/directional light(light green w/tracer wire), running lights(white wire), a ground wire, plus a heavy duty flasher. Back up lights if you want them(white wire w/tracer).
