old jeep new member. SR4 is toast,should i rebuild or can i install a working T-18 ?

You can do either-Just takes $$$.
You'll have to mod the DS's with the T-18 .
With the 18-You'll still have a 3 speed on the street as 1st is a deep 'granny' gear, and not syncro'd.

If you plan on doing some serious trail driving the T-18 is great, but I really don't think it is a good street tranny. There's always adding the 4 to 1 kit for low gears also. Other tranny options are the T-176 and T-5 .
