The Transfer Case on my '81 CJ7 is hard to shift sometimes. Is there an easy fix? I replaced the motor mounts earlier for another reason but I haven't replaced the Transmission mount.
thanks in advance.

twin stick it :) the best thing I ever did for shifting problems.

or check (clean) the linkage where it bolts to the tc, it gets all gunked up there.

You should have the Dana 300 Transfer Case . They have a history of not being able to shift very easily. There is a proper way to do it though, and that is when you are shifting into 4wd is to be at a slow roll of 2-3 mph while engaging, that is from the owners manual. I also have converted to the twin stick and find it easier to work with.

Thanks, I have found it easier too shift when on a slow roll as suggested. It sounds like it may simply be the nature of the beast.
Thanks again
