I have a 1986 Jeep CJ7 that had a 4" body lift when I purchased it. When I removed the lift kit I found that the body mount brackets in front of the rear tire wells (where the roll bar attaches to the floor) had rusted out. Does anyone know where I can purchase a patch for this area of the tub? The tub is in other wise good condition. I've searched the internet and called most of the companies that pop-up. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can take a picture this week.

You want to replace the untire floor panel? Or are you considering just patching the small area underneath the front roll bar mount. If it's just a small square section you could try patching it by getting a piece of 18 gauge sheet metal, cutting it to size, then welding it in. I've seen some good articles on reinforcing those areas after it is patched as well. I'll find that article and post it up. Chances are your floor support underneath is shot too, and that makes for a tougher job. I read on one of the threads here that there is a company that sells floor panels w/floor supports, but can't remember what company it was.

Here is a link to the article i've been referencing for my tub resto. Notice the reinforced areas he custom made to support the floor boards where the roll bar mounts. He also removed the old rusted floor supports and made new floor supports out of rectangular tube 1" X 4" if I remember correctly. I guess the question I should have asked first is: Can you weld? Or do you know someone who can?
