1979 CJ 304, 400 automatic
Finally getting closer to finishing my 1979 project. It was missing a lot of things when I acquired it. Anyway It was missing a cup out of the rear drive shaft u-joint so I pick up another one with straps and bolts. I see that the yoke coming out of the model 20 is not threaded. So I guess use nuts on the backside. Is this common? I figure the yoke would be threaded for strength . Also does the female part of the drive shaft bolt in to the rear end or is it the male part. Appreciate any replies...
 
please tell me that you replaced the U joint and not just the bearing cup.:D
