what do you do about the the vin plate that is on the dash of your jeep if you replace your dash. The dash on our 76 has been cut up and want to put a new one in but dont know what you do about the vin,

The vin plate is on a bracket that just unbolts.

well mine is a sticker that is stuck to the dash and has been taped over and painted several times

That is just a vehicle VIN sticker. You should have a metal VIN plate attached to the firewall by the master cylinder.
