so shes been sitting for while and i finally put the battery in and when i got her fired up i smelled fuel. Looked under the hood and see the intake sprayed with fuel. I can see it dripping and when its off and i full throttle it i can see the spray coming from the right side of the carb. square unit 4 phillips screws. my guess is accel. pump. Can anyone point me in the diredtion of which gasket i need and how hard of a task? I the gasket getable at the aftermarket chains? thanks guys/girls
Dan

Depends on the carb.
Have you ck'd the rubber fuel lines and clamps at all?

its a weber 32/36 as stated in my profile  when i manually open the throttle it sprays out of this little guy right out of the bottom onto the intake and exhaust manifolds. just didnt know if anyone knew a part# i could get local vs ordering is all

The part your referring to is the accelerator pump. Call Weber tech and they can send you out gasket/diaphragm if that's all you need (the gasket/diaphragm is one piece).

so i had my parts dept. call and see if any was able to get a pump seal. just wanna ask, cause they did they have some gaskets but for ford, chrysler, jeep,gm carbs. do i dare try one or order the rebuild kit from weber..kind of makes me think of ditching the weber for something that can be serviced locally.

Have you tried to tighten the 4 screws? Sometimes that is all it needs if it's not driping out the weep hole at the bottom and by the way you said it's spraying it's typically not a hole in the diaphragm.
There is a chance other makes will fit just remove the old one and compare.
Did you call weber tech?

i havent yet. was trying to get something while at work. ill try tightening them when i get home. its deff. a spray when i open the throttle, does drip at times. probably gonna just order the kit so i have the other gaskets from morris4x4. they are pretty quick. or maybe crown will stock it? i can drive there, was hope to solve it by sunday so i could try and go out.

Jeff @crown sells weber carbs so they should have the kits as well. I'd call ahead to make sure the kit is in stock.
Try tightening the screws before ordering.

ill do that right when i get home. be cool if they had it cause they are close to me.

CK ALL the screws on that carb. ;)

so all 4 screws were at least 3-4 turns out. tightened=no leak:D . bought the carb new in '10? maybe they need spme lite thread lock.. so at least i can order a kit and get out on sunday for a quick run..thanks for all the help posi! and i will inspect ALL screws next. thanks again

By Crown, you mean

Crown Automotive Sales Co. Inc. (Headquarters)
83 Enterprise Drive
Marshfield, MA 02050
781-319-3100

or is "Crown" a regional/local-ish auto parts supplier?

-Jon

Yes Crown Automotive, not the headquartes, the outlet store in Canton.
