As my build moves from day today i have finally reached the step of swapping out that :dung:ty old carter carb. I went down to 4x4 parts in marietta close to my house and purchased the weber, guy at the desk said it should be in tomorrow also mentioning if i can't get it tuned to maybe throw a pressure regulator on it. does anyone have a walkthrough for tuning it and if i have to put a pressure regulator on it. the only reason I'm not doing the mc2100 swap is the guy on ebay i was emailing about the gronk setup stopped emailing me back and i have to get the carter out of their, any help would be much appreciated. hopefully not opening up a can of worms. btw i have the AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l inline 6 engine.

All the answers to your questions will be in the directions that come with your weber. Simple step by step setup, if you run into any jet issues they have a tech # you can call and they will send you smaller or larger jets no charge.
Chances are you'll need a fuel regulator if your fuel pump is pushing higher then 3.5 PSI.

If the fuel mixture screw turns in all the way and the engine still runs I would check the fuel pressure, if higher then 3.5 add a fuel regulator.
If after installing a pressure regulator the engine still runs with the fuel mixture screw turned in all the way I would call the tech # for a smaller idle jet.
The idle jet is very easy to change.
Once you have the mixture screw functioning adjust by ear or with a vacuum gauge.

Timing is key.... what CFM is the weber? i had the dgce34 it was 300 cfm i had fuel pressure issue at first, i would suggest not jetting down to much, i swapped out my ignition for a performance distributor (D.U.I.) along with holly pressure regulator 3psi, that really seemed to help, IMO webers are a little more "hot rod" :D and some tend to run rich. on a side note Gronk sometimes sells $3000 grand in carbs a month and gets really busy.
