AMC AMC 304 out of a 1975, I think stock w/ Motorcraft Carb....2bbl. Do not want to spend a fortune.

A AMC 304 is plenty enough engine to upgrade to a 4 bbl. I'd say look for a edlebrock or holley. You can't go wrong with either. Or you could always upgrade to efi to give you a little more power. The stock carb isn't a bad carb either.

I have the same engine with a 4 bbl edlebrock. Love it.

It depends on what you're going to use it for. The 4bbl is probably great on the street, but everything I've read says the Motorcraft 2100 2bbl is much better off road.

I have the exact same setup as you. The motorcraft 2100 and 2150 carbs are considered very good for offroad use (no cutout when Jeep is in extreme angles).

I just had my Motorcraft 2150 rebuilt using a $50 NAPA kit and the difference in performance is incredible. If you are on a budget, I suggest keeping your carburator and rebuilding it.

The motorcraft MC2100 1.08 ventury is what came on your jeep from the factory. That carb is well known in the offroad industry and has found its way onto many other engines and vehicles. It is a Ford carb. Came on Ford V8's for many years.
They are very simple to understand and work on.
They are one of the biggest 2 barrel carbs made. They offer just about the same CFM as a 4 barrel does accept you will get better fuel mialage!
You can buy a reman from Summit or just have yours rebuilt.
Unless you want that 4 barrel gas mialage (wich sucks) you should stay with what you have.
I had a 74 CJ5 with the same setup as you. That thing had more power than I ever needed, and it would run on its side.
