In a frame off rebuild for a long time...
I've got my CJ tore 1/2 apart in the yard. Lots of nice days going by, and I barely even look at it, much less work on it. Got big plans for it, just can't seem to get the motivation to work on it.
To top it all off, for the first time in my life, I'm pretty much out of debt, got a good job (that I hate), and we are bringing in a very good income for the summer. That means I have the funds available to buy whatever I need for the jeep (and have the wife's permission to do so) but I can't even begin ordering parts for some reason..Whats wrong with me??!
It seems everything is going right for the first time in a loong time, but I can't seem to get going. Even my other project, a 5x8 utility trailer, is stalled cause I don't want to pay for the wheels/tires and fenders I need to finish it up. I must just be getting too old...

OH well thats off my chest. Thanks for listening... :chug:

Lol thats funny...But I'm around too many guys that pretend to be just like that all day at work, so it doesn't phase me any. I need other motivation.
I guess it would help if there was at least a Jeep club around here, I'm tired of going out by myself/wife/kid and having to take care to not destroy anything that wont get us home or worse.
I'm about to buy a TJ just so I can keep driving a Jeep...Mine hasn't seen the road in almost 2 years.

Hell, I have two Jeep clubs in the area and don't wheel with either one. My advantage is that my entire family is into wheeling. Son has his own rig, so have a wheeling buddy pretty much most of the time.

Just think of the fun you'll have actually wrenching on the classic. They turn more heads than your run of the mill TJ.

Old CJ's increase in value, TJ's not so much.

(help any)

I know just what you are talking about. I have been looking at mine for about a month and have not turned a wrench. It comes in cycles sometimes, I just have to take advantage of the motivated times and not sweat the couch potato times. Just relax, you may need it. and when it hits you, dive in head first.:D

Don't sweet it bro. I went through that kick with my CJ5 for a couple years to the point where I didn't even drive it. I rode my motorcycle full time in the summer and the Jeep just sat. I finally got my motivation back last year when I bought the CJ8 to do another restoration but it took a motorcycle accident to push me back to Jeeps. it comes and goes. you will get the itch again and the project will be waiting for you right where you left it.

LOL find you a friend who likes jeeps his excitment should rub off and get you back in there

ROTFLMAO...

come on back and try, buddy! It'd be good to see you again!

But hey! I did get out and get some more work done on my little trailer I'm building...Nothing on the Jeep yet tho. :(

For me, everything is a cycle. I work on the Jeep every free moment I can, until my wife tells me thats all I seem to care about. So I start on the Deuce, until she tells me thats all I seem to care about. Then I start an AR build, then she tells me ...... It all goes in cycles :chug:

I have the same problem. I have told myself that no other projects will be started until the jeep is on the road again. And their are alot of projects waiting to get done. One of which is another Rover, but I am determined to get the jeep done first:)

I think once I get the little trailer done up, I might be able to get back to the CJ for a little bit.
I have another "project" in mind that might come around the end of the month if all goes right, so I'm excited about that one already. I'll share it with you guys if/when it comes to fruition.
Thanks for all the advice, it means a lot to be able to talk to guys that know what I'm going thru!

do something little to it that makes a difference, youll get back at.;) before you know it youll have it together and be having fun with it. start small and go big.
