1982 cj7 with vortec 5.3, sittin on a 4.5" lift and 35's. This thing is nasty strong.
I recently did a axle swap twice. Found out that the idiot before me didn't put the backing plates in which is why I was eating rear seals. Fixed that. Now have two sets of moser axles which is a good thing to have. ONE PROBLEM......when I went to put the new axles in, one of them wouldn't go in. This is what I found inside my axle tube. What the heck is it???? Pleas help lol. The rear cover also is another story so I can't open the differential yet....working on that too. It does have a locker just not sure what one.
Thanks
Robert

Looks like a pin used when/for setting tapered axle shaft bearing endplay.
Most commonly found in powerloks.

I just googled powr-lok cross shaft pin. Google images shows a few types of powr-lok cross shafts that are pinned together with two pins that look a lot like that. You may find another one in the other tube. The AMC20 Powr-Lok is a rare item. I was looking for one for a long time. I checked every 1969-1971 AMX and Javelin that came up on CL (not many). I think they called it Twin Grip. I gave up because the only one I was able to locate was at a classic salvage yard for $300 plus shipping and the rebuild kit is $120.
