Anybody have any recent experience with this? I find all sorts of sites on the intertubes that sell long blocks with prices varying from $987 to $1200. Add in freight and shipping and it can get up there pretty good.

I don't want to try to rebuild my existing motor and local people that can tell me they wouldn't. (The guy that was sweeping the floor yesterday may be the machinist today)

O'Reilly's has one for around $1650 delivered. Core charge would be immediately negated.

I will be buying an 86 'U' vin AMC 150 4 cyl.

I am actually OK and looking forward to keeping it a 4 cyl because I may end up giving it to my grandson when he gets his license in 5 years and I like the fact that not many people have the 4 banger.

Thanks in advance

Thanks, I hadn't thought about NAPA.
